What kind of parks are here
What is on offer runs from apartments for two people to detached houses for more than twenty. That last part is unusual along this coast: most places go no further than eight or ten. Alongside the two large resorts there are two campsites with pitches and chalets.
The beach
The beach is wide and gently sloping. At low tide shallow pools are left behind for children to play in, which makes it well suited to young families. Near the radar tower people find fossil shark teeth and shells, especially after a storm. A path runs along the sea dyke all the way to Cadzand in one direction and Breskens in the other.
What else there is to do
Nieuwvliet-Dorp lies inland and has an old village centre. Sluis, with its shopping streets and the remains of its fortifications, is to the south. At the Belgian border the Zwin begins, a tidal area known for its birdlife. Breskens has a fishing harbour and a ferry to Vlissingen.
When to go
Zeeuws-Vlaanderen gets more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in the Netherlands, and you notice it most in May and June. July and August are busy on the beach but quieter than the Zeeland islands. September is the best month: warm water and empty sand. Most beach pavilions stay open outside the season too.
