The Boschmolenplas is known for its exceptionally clear water, with visibility down to around twelve metres, making it a well-established diving location. A dive school with a freediving platform is based at the park, and boats, motorboats, SUP boards and bicycles are available to hire. On the grounds there are also tennis courts, a playground, a pétanque court and a football pitch, and a restaurant with a terrace overlooking both the lake and the marina rounds out the facilities.

What to do around Heel and the Maasplassen

The Boschmolenplas is part of the Maasplassen, a network of lakes covering more than three thousand hectares that were formed by gravel extraction and together make up the largest contiguous watersports area in the Netherlands. The white-walled town of Thorn, with its striking historic centre, is close to the park and worth a visit. Nature reserve Het Leudal and National Park De Meinweg are both within easy reach and offer walking and cycling routes through varied landscapes. Roermond, with its Designer Outlet centre and city centre, is a short drive away.
