Holiday parks in North Holland
Park Heerehof is a small-scale holiday park on the Heereweg in Schoorl, situated directly at the foot of the Schoorlse Duinen. The park opened in August 2022 and sits within one of the largest dune areas in the Netherlands.
Accommodation at Park Heerehof
The park offers duinlodges for two or six persons, a villa for eight, a loft for four persons and group accommodation for twelve or fourteen persons. The lodges are heated in a CO2-neutral way and fitted with solar panels. Several lodges have their own electric vehicle charging point, and one lodge accepts pets.
Facilities on the grounds
On the grounds there is an ice cream parlour, and bicycles are available to hire through the park. There is no swimming pool on site.
What to do around Schoorl
The Buitencentrum Schoorlse Duinen is a short walk from the park and serves as a starting point for walks and excursions into the dune landscape. The Schoorlse Duinen form one of the widest dune areas in the Netherlands and contain varied terrain including forest and open dunes. The North Sea beach at Schoorl aan Zee is reachable by bicycle through the dunes, making the route itself part of the outing. The wider area around Bergen aan Zee and Egmond aan Zee also offers stretches of coastline, and the village of Bergen has a centre with galleries and restaurants.
Getting there
Schoorl lies north of Alkmaar, which is the nearest larger city with a railway station and direct connections to Amsterdam and other parts of North Holland. The park is accessible by car via regional roads through the dune area.
Who the park suits
Park Heerehof suits couples and families looking for a base close to the dunes and the North Sea coast, as well as larger groups given the availability of group accommodation for up to fourteen persons. The pet-friendly lodge makes the park a practical option for guests travelling with a dog.
